I was so excited to finally get some time to myself. My husband is finally home from Iraq early after injuring himself and having surgery. He is recovering fine now until another surgery coming up soon, but I'm digressing. Anyway I decided to go get a massage and pedicure and just enjoy some "me time" while he watched the kids. After a while I had gotten a few text messages from hubs saying that my youngest daughter, who just turned four months old, was having a rough time so I was headed back home. I am leaving the mall and he calls me on my cell. The first five seconds of the call are of my baby screaming her little heart out so I'm telling hubs I am on my way home. I am a breastfeeding mom. Most of us know that when you hear your baby cry, and sometimes others, you begin to produce milk. I hung up the phone and felt something cold on my shirt. I look down and I am mortified. Hearing my baby cry had made me begin to leak milk. I had forgotten my nursing pads! I am wearing an all black T-shirt so there is no way to even try to conceal this. I was soaked! The exit doors seem as if they are a mile away, and I am walking so fast trying to get outta there. My heart is pounding and my mind is racing as I am thinking please God do not let anyone notice this. It seemed as if everyone was watching me and probaby not one of them even noticed. I was so relieved to make it out of the mall. When I got home I told hubs what happened and of course he thought it was the funniest thing in the world. Needless to say I always triple check to make sure I have my nursing pads when i leave the house from now on.
Hiya! I am Stephanie... I have been an army spouse for 7 years, and a teacher for 3 years. I am a SAHM to a 4 year old daughter who is infatuated with spongebob and anything "princessy" and an 8 month old daughter, who, in between teething and crawling has been a huge inspiration to my mommymeter. I am currently "recovering" from my husbands' latest Iraq deployment. This will be my little speck in the blogosphere to hopefully captivate and inspire some of you to stick around while I LOL, vent or whatever!
